Commission a Kate McLaren painting

Enhance your home or business environment, or give a unique gift, with an iconic New Zealand painting by Kate McLaren. Kate takes commissions for rural and urban landscapes, portraits, and still life paintings, and she will work closely with you to produce a personalised work of art.

The commissioning process

It’s easier than you think. Kate will discuss with you the type of painting you’re interested in having commissioned. Once details are established she is then able to give you an estimate on the price. In some cases a site visit to take further photos may be necessary before an image mock up is able to be presented for consideration.

Once a basic idea and price is agreed, a 50% deposit is required to be paid. Further discussions takes place to refine details from the mock-ups provided, and to ensure that there is agreement before painting begins.

Kate will advise you on progress throughout the painting process. When the painting is approximately 60% completed, you are encouraged to view the work. It is at this point minor changes from the mockup image, are able to be considered. Any price variation to the initial quote is advised at this point.

The balance owing is required to be paid in full on the completion and delivery of the piece. Contact Kate for more information
