Contemporary fine art exhibitions
Kate McLaren’s artwork has been viewed and sold in a variety of fine art exhibitions in New Zealand. Back in 2005, in true "Kiwi can-do style", she packed her art canvases and made her way to London to be part of the Different Perspectives Show - her first public exhibition.
One of the artworks she sold there was to an ex-Kiwi who fell in love with the New Zealand imagery that reminded her so much of home.
As Kate says, "After hanging the painting, we stood back and looked at this unassuming colonial church sitting in its New Zealand landscape. It's now overlooking the copper and wrought iron roof line of Trafalgar Square. I love the incongruity of that scene - that simple wooden church placed within the detailing of London's finest architecture."
Current and Future Exhibitions
Kate's works are able to be viewed by appointment at her studio - 311 Willis St, Te Aro, Wellington. It is only a 10 minute walk south from the Wellington CBD (Lambton Quay). Contact Kate to arrange a time to visit, or join the mailing list to receive an invite to the next Gallery/Studio Open Day.
